From the Supreme Court’s oral arguments in a sexting case earlier today (via the NYT):

Chief Justice Roberts warned against devising a legal rule that “would require people basically to have two of these things with them, two of whatever they are — the text messager or the BlackBerrys or whatever.”

Since when did Supreme Court justices talking about technology sound as uninformed as Catholic cardinals talking about sex? Even more alarming–John Roberts is the court’s youngest justice. He’s supposed to be the one most in touch with the latest newfangled contraptions. Forget the debate about whether Diane Wood is too old at age 59 to be Obama’s next nominee for the court. The president should clearly be focusing on recent law school grads, age 30 or 31, tops.
