Not as crazy as having Glenn Beck for a running mate...

Dobbs/Pailn and their little dog Beck in 2012.

  • 3

well, if Tom Tancredo ran for president and wasn't...oh wait. Nevermind.

  • 4

    …some have already posted / pondered a Palin / Dobbs ticket –

    .
I guess that Mexico Ambassador gig thingy didn't open up for Lou after all, alas.

  • 6

Must be a slow news days. After all the angst over 60 votes and the Palinpalooza we need another ridiculous meme.

    • 6.1

…hmm, will there be nothing from Karen, Jay, or Amy this evening? KT posted a new HCR piece about R stall tactics but that's it.

    • 6.2

Going through a$$-kissin' withdrawal there decontruct?

    • 6.3

…oh absolutely, I admit missing the swampwomen already. But have you finally come up with a biz plan for your company that includes rising HC costs, etc. so that you don't have to fire any more employees?

    • 6.4

The biz plan has been made up since 1976, deconstruct, pretty much the same as it was during the Carter Administration.
      .
      Unemployment at 20%+
      .
Interest rates that went through the roof about a year into the Carter Administration.
      .
I'll start rehiring when a Republican controlled Congress occurs in 2011, and Obama is shut down completely.
      .
In the meantime it is full stop and pull back in case taxes go through the roof, which I am confident will happen if Obama gets his way with heathcare and the rest of his Tax and Spend agenda on domestic policy giveaways which do not stimulate a good conversation let alone the economy.

    • 6.5

…1976? you might want to update your plan. You might want to redeem your Pan Am frequent flyer miles too; they're not like AT+T rollover minutes that you can keep forever.

    • 6.6

Why, deconstruct? It was a great plan in 1976 - 1980. We are simply entering Jimmy Carter Part II with Obama.

    • 6.7

rusty, are you claiming the unemployment rate was 20% under Carter?

    • 6.8

We could always stamp out "WIN" (Whip Inflation Now) buttons like President Ford did in 1975.
      .
There's a GOP solution to an economic problem that Hoover'd be proud of...buttons.

    • 6.9

Oh I am sorry palininatowel, no it was 8+ percent and climbing due to Carter's ineffectual Administration and policies. But, reached 10.8% overall before Reagan's brilliant economic policies took effect, and we saw the greatest economic conditions in any peace time era since this great Country was conceived.
      .
But in my specific area, unemployment did reach 23.6%, with interest rates at 26%. I again apologize, it was interest rates that exceeded 20+%, not the overall national un-employment rate.
      .
But, as Obama has proven to "fudge" the numbers, I am sure dear Jimmy did likewise. Back then however it was difficult to fact check the Government numbers like we can today with the internet.
      .
      Don't you agree?

Any business running off the back of a thirty year old business plan is not optimising anything for anyone - customers, shareholders or staff.

No wonder you can afford to spend so much time here.

  • 7

I don't know whether Obama is playing 12 dimensional chess or whatever but I am willing to bet that if he ever mapped out an ideal scenario for his re-election, say in January 2007, he couldn't have come up with a best case scenario as good as the current one - in terms of opponents that is. Palin, Beck, Limbaugh, and now Dobbs. Rudy, Newt, Mitt - does anyone think any of these people can get elected?

You have to think he thought a bit about this since all the plausible republican candidates are working for the Obama administration.

  • 8

So the crazy guy says something isn't crazy.

It's getting pretty Zen around here, isn't it?

  • 9

The only crazy thing in life would be that any liberal would find any conservative an appropriate candidate for any Government Office.
    .
Liberals unfortunately live in their fairytale land of Oz. They believe that their perverted ideals, morals and values are shifting America to the left, when in fact the shift is clearly moving to the right.
    .
Not even one year into an Obama Administration and his huge electorate are already disillusioned. His "change" meme has been resoundingly rejected. His only support comes from the far left extreme of the Demonut Party.
    .
It is a shame that Martin Luther King's dream has been wasted on a totally ineffective, inexperienced, already lame duck dimwit of a President.
    .
The only question now is how low will his approval ratings go? 49% and falling like a fat woman in a deep pool anyone!!

    • 9.1

Speaking as a fat woman, Rusty, we float like corks.

    • 9.2

      rusty, this was great:
      .
"Liberals unfortunately live in their fairytale land of Oz."
      .
Here's the real "fairytale land": the one where a jackass like Dobbs or an idiot like Palin could ever garner enough support to win a general election.
      .
Both hands on the keyboard when your fantasizing about Palin, rusty...

    • 9.3

…sorry, rusty, not all women look like Sarah, let alone be toothpick-thin supermodels. Yeah, I'm disappointed too that there are only two Sarah's out there, but we'll manage.

    • 9.4

"The only crazy thing in life would be that any liberal would find any conservative an appropriate candidate for any Government Office."
      .
"Conservatives" run for government offices on the premise that "government is the problem" and government taxing and spending (government's job) is a bad thing. In other words, they claim to despise government, think it can't do any good and have no idea how it's supposed to work. Who could be crazier than the idiots like you who actually vote for them?

    • 9.5

omorka: You made my day. Thanks for the chuckle. I like women with a little meat on their bones. A heavy set woman can suffer a serious illness, lose 40 pounds and look good. A skinny woman can get sick, lose 40 pounds and you have to wear black.

    • 9.6

"His only support comes from the far left wing of the Democrat Party."

      49% approval.

Maybe it's time to gt a bigger gun, Rusty.

Yes Dobbs/Palin would be a classic match-up for Chris Tingles/Joe Klein Ticket

Individually Dobbs or Palin have more fans than Tinlges & Klein combined.

    • 10.1

free, "fans" is a small number relative to the larger world of "voters."
      .
Dobbs, Palin and Beck may have plenty of "fans," but to think those numbers translate into electoral victory is inane.

    • 10.2

      palininatowel

Well if a "C" student from Columbia who never really held a job in his life except to vote present, anything is possible.

      What a country huh?

    • 10.3

      free, Bush went to Yale.

    • 10.4

      palininatowel:

      "free, Bush went to Yale"

Your obtuseness is sad and pathetic

  • 11

Third party? Or as a Republican? I'd love to see Lou and Palin and Beck all jump on the crazy train.

    • 11.1

Lou and Palin? I can just see Sarah telling Lou to calm down because he's not making any sense. Talk about losing the Hispanic vote.

    • 11.2

The problem with trainwrecks is that they always leave a mess for someone else to clean up.

      Like Afghanistan for example.
