So that was what Michelle was gingerly holding in the photo provided by KT for her '1000 Words' thread last week!
    .
    Who woulda thunk...

  • 2

Oh, btw, just so you know:
    .
Health care has been deemed by the GOP to be the greatest threat ever to our freedom!
    .
And to think, right wing terrorists may have added a 12th body to their count of victims on American soil - a police officer in Seattle.
    .
    GOP 12, Al-Queda 0.
    .
Now, just what was that they claimed about threats to freedom...

  • 3

    Gee!
Now we know what pain gives rise to his blustery. Is he all made up of that sore stuff?
I thought we yanked it out and presented it to the world over the week-end ...

  • 4

That's Stewart's best work since he got Crossfire cancelled.

  • 5

Nothing "lighter" about it. Stewart's nearly alone in his willingness to call an a$$#0£€ an a$$#0£€.

To paraphrase Jefferson: Were it left to me to decide whether we should have today's news media without satirists or satirists without news media, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter.

    • 5.1

Very well said, FlownOver. You learn more by watching the satirists than watching the news. Who but Jon Stewart actually puts Fox's crap into context? Everyone else is a slave to the media's moderate bias, which prevents them from being able to report the news objectively.

    • 5.2

And that explains why he's the most trusted man in news. Do you suppose "real" journalists ever give any serious thought as to why that is or do they just rationalize it away like liberal criticism?

The thing you need to keep in mind is that the lunatic he is mocking, Glenn Beck, is one of the driving forces behind the politics of the current GOP....And of course the media will not admit it. First and foremost, Fox news is their sister organization, right? Glenn Beck is one of them, and they surround us. Our political pundits and beltway betters can't talk about the fact that Hoffman, the wingnut carpetbagger in the NY-23 special election, was a Glenn Beck follower. No, our talking heads on the cable networks are too busy talking about the rebirth of conservatism because Republicans LOST an election in NY for the first time in 15 decades and won a governor's seat in… VIRGINIA.
      --John Cole

      .
Good on you for highlighting Washington's unofficial court jester, Amy.

  • 7

Stewart really captured the essence of Beck. This is a classic! However, I'm sure many of Beck's colleagues in the MSM won't find it amusing since they have been such solid defenders of Fox.

Another topic that is Stewart material - people at those hcr rallies had medical issues that had to be resolved by the government health care available on Capitol Hill.

    http://thinkprogress.org/2009/11/06/rally-heart-attack/

    • 7.1

lol - "We're against gubbamint-run healthcare, 'cept when when we're havin' a heart failure during a rally against gubbamint-run healthcare..."
      .
Did the paramedics force the man who had the heart attack to negotiate payment before receiving care?
      .
      No?
      .
Oh, that dude (and the 4 other people who needed care) must have been liberal wusses. Planted, I'm sure.

    • 7.2

There was an excellent post on RedState after the election stating that Americans love socialism for themselves but hate it for other people. The post was quickly deleted. The statement's truth is demonstrated everyday.

My personal favorite is this headline at the start of the latest financial crisis: "Jittery markets look to Fed - cash infusion raises issue of rate cut".

The Democratic party is truly the Big Tent party and the entire tent is a circus filled up with liberal.

Question is who wins the fight to drive the clown car.

Everyone makes fun of Beck, Fox et al. Unemployment is 10.2% up 0.3% when we were (LIED TO) told that with the porkulus bill would hold unemployment would not get above 8%

    Keep laughing clowns!

    • 8.1

Time to jump the sinking ship, freeinpa ...

    • 8.2

The world is coming to an end, freeinpa. Don't be afraid. Just jump. [The life yonder is better ..]

    • 8.3

If yonder life is better than you first pinhead. Take IQ53 and the rest of the subhuman liberals here who believe this country is evil, crooked and uncharitable. I doubt your mothers will miss you

    • 8.4

free, you mean you didn't laugh at Stewart's dead-on parody of Beck's lunacy?
      .
I hope the Democratic health reform plan includes coverage for humor transplants. I 'd be happy if my tax dollars went to making you a happier person who can see the humor in life once in a while.

    • 8.5

      palininatowe

No I didn't but from reading you folks it must have been as funny as watching real life Joe Biden

    • 8.6

I have great empathy for you, free. Going through life as embittered as you are is a sad phenomenon for any feeling person to have to witness.
      .
I hope life turns around for you soon, friend!

    • 8.7

You can worship all you want at the altar of Glenn Beck - but aside from factless vitriol, what is he offering in terms of solutions? The same thing the republicans are offering...nothing. If snark solved problems, beck would be a king, but since he has little or nothing of real value to offer, he's just comedic fodder.

    • 8.8

"You can worship all you want at the altar of Glenn Beck - but aside from factless vitriol, what is he offering in terms of solutions? The same thing the republicans are offering...nothing. You just described anyone on MSNBC, CNN and for heaven sake Joe Klein. I am amused how the left immediately dismisses anyone as a fool who they do not agree. Liberals live here in there own little delusional world, lying to themselves that they aren't extreme and they are the truth seekers. To become the truth seekers you must stop lying to yourselves.

    • 8.9

Yes, free, as soon as the rest of America can admit that "Obama = Hitler," we'll see the great wisdom and insight of one, Glenn Beck!
      .
In the meantime, thank goodness he has folks like you he can count on!

    • 8.10

      palininatowel

Yes I love the anguish over the Obama=Hitler whining from the left that was a happy participant in the Bush=Hitler claptrap for the past 8 years.

I am sure you are happier with Oberdoof and Chris Tingles, the wonder dummies of MSNBC

    • 8.11

free, as I have posted here many times, I think all of the punditry -- left, right and in-between -- is pretty much one giant, self-inflated egofest. All of them reminds of the inflatable balloon cartoon characters one sees at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in NYC.
      .
That said, I think Beck is in a class by himself. He's a self-described "clown," and I think he means it. Stewart's take on him here is dead-on and hilarious.
      .
I would laugh just as hard would some comedian take on the buffoonish Keith Olbermann.

    • 8.12

Your problem, freeper, is that you are all too willing to display your inability to grasp even the most rudimentary macroeconomic concepts. Case in point: Unemployment is 10.2% up 0.3% when we were (LIED TO) told that with the porkulus bill would hold unemployment would not get above 8%
      .
Aside from the idiotic lie that the Obama "promised" to hold unemployment to a particular level -- as if any administration in history has ever guaranteed a specific economic metric -- your criticism just doesn't make sense from a "conservative" economic perspective.
      .
Not even a "conservative" economist would argue that, in the short term, unemployment would be lower without the additional government spending.

    • 8.13

      square1

Yes and the lie is all Obamas. You can twist it anyway you want, compare to a "conservative economist" or whatever diversion you might chose. The WH told the American public 8% would be the top for unemployment. So what you are really saying is they had no clue. At least we are agreed on that.

Now for the next liberal lie coming to light from that right wing nut Robert Reich.

Robert Reich believes healthcare legislation currently being debated on Capitol Hill "won't offer most Americans any appreciable decline in the cost of their health insurance nor clear improvement in the efficiency or quality of the health care they receive."

      Losers all.

    • 9.1

More hard core reporting from the MSM media. What defines significant? Heavens they paid salaries. And from HC premiums. Horrors! What is next tax payer dollars carrying Peloser's botoxed butt to San Fran? Oh right that already happens.

    • 9.2

Did anyone ever point out to you Freetopee, that the cost of the perks Cfuk is referring to is about 315,000 times the cost of a trip to SF by Pelosi?
      .
That is, if it was even paid for in the manner you suggest, which I dount...

  • 10

Heh. Beck's so crazy, his own organs and tissues are rejecting him.

    Stewart is spot on (again).

    • 10.1

These insurance guys go to sleep at times!

      Everyone knows.
That organ did not start going awry the moment he went for surgery: It started when he was a kid walking the road to wingnutism years ago! ..

For the love of lucifer, insurance man, It was a pre-existing condition! Don't pay a dime!

    • 10.2

The beck nut wouldn't mind. That is free enterprise, he will agree.

    • 10.3

I heard that his intestines were plotting to strangle him by crawling up his esophogus, sh!tting out his mouth, and then throttling him until he turns purple.
      .
Oh wait! That just means he's insanely apoplectic...

  • 11

Stewart's outrageous performance is the worst attack on a patriot since Colbert's disgraceful screed at the White House Correspondents' dinner.

  • 12

Well, if Glenn's got hemorrhoids, then we can be certain that he's not a PERFECT a**hole.

    • 12.1

Hemorrhoid surgery gone terribly awry. That "Beck-on-his-couch" video is one of the (unintentionally) funniest things ever posted to the Internet.

    • 12.2

Gives a different, more literal, meaning to someone (or something) being a "pain in the a$$", doesn't it?

  • 13

Time to give Amy some credit. There are, sadly, too few in the MSM who are willing to point out Beck's utter clownishness. Kudos to Amy for linking to Stewart.

    • 13.1

I'd say shame on Amy, and almost all her professional colleagues, for waiting on a comedian to put Beck in his place – and then for calling it a "lighter moment" when Fox's hate merchant finally gets what's coming to him.

She's right about it being "much-needed," but it shows a Bushian lack of self-awareness that the need was created by the chronic irresponsibility of the Village.

"Amy Sullivan is a senior editor at TIME magazine, and author of the book The Party Faithful: How and Why Democrats are Closing the God Gap (Scribner, 2008). A Michigan native, she holds degrees from the University of Michigan and Harvard Divinity School. She writes about religion and politics for TIME, but no longer answers to the name "Bible Girl."

    .
I am sure that poking fun at Glenn Beck's medical problems are a way to get some sort of self esteem back when you will always be labeled "Bible Girl".
    .
    TIME simply has no clue.

    • 14.1

rusty, an appendix is only kind of funny.
      .
Now, the hemorrhoid surgery gone awry with Beck prone on his couch crying... That was hilarious!

    • 14.2

" .. a way to get some sort of self esteem back .. "

And that complement comes from the esteemed guy mercifully named Mr/Mrs/Comrade Rusty Returns ...

  • 15

Watched the video, laughed a couple of times, but then I had an epihany!: This is where 53 and so many of these other pinheads get their "indepth analysis's." JOHN STEWART!! man alive, it was right there, in front of me, and I didn't see it...........

    • 15.1

2/3: " .. it was right there, in front of me, and I didn't see it.."
You would have seen it - if you had not been so fixated on inflamed, lurid blustery from your role models with inflamed innards and drug-induced hallucinations ..

    • 15.2

You know, 2/3rds of a nut. You might just be right.
      .
Then again, the number of times you've been successful in rebutting any comment I have made is exactly zero.
      .
BTW, 2/3rds of a nut, I eat my Wheaties too...

    • 15.3

53, you need to just keep at it, hang in there, and never give up and, by golly, one day you may actually conjure up a coherent thought. Then I will engage you. I tried arguing with a three yr. old once but it made me feel like a bully. Just don't feel like doing it again. Like I said hang in there, and keep eating those wheaties. It'll help keep you regular.

  • 16

So, you don't wanna jump ship, freeinpa?
You are chicken! You is yella!
    You full of crappy bellyache!
You lily-livered! You jello-footed! You spineless!
[By the way, the above may as well appear in a good novel ..]

    • 17.1

freeinpa " .. If yonder life is better then you first ... "

[Oh. You don't believe in evolution. You think some one/thingy created you. .. before or after the humans and the rats?]

Hey all you liberal chuckleheads. Seems Mr. Beck, the guy that you continually mock and belittle may be spot on with ACORN. Seems federal law enforcement raided the New Orleans operations which is head of this bloodsucking monster.

Joe Klein maybe when you are done watching Jon Stewart you could do some actual journalism work.

Yeah that is a joke isn't it. You'll never get invited back to Chris Tingles show

    • 20.1

      That's ok, freetopee.
      .
We are waiting to hear whether the two suspects in the killing of Officer Benton is, and will soon be able to properly adjust the ol' GOP vs. Al Queda scorecard from 11-0 to 12-0.
      .
Either way, I think you've got a mighty shaky platform from which to be throwing your assbolts...

    • 20.2

Officer Brenton. My apologies to the deceased.

    • 20.3

So 53, who are these GOP members who you claim have killed, what, 12 people so far? Were they found to be carrying "GOP" cards in their wallets, or a tattoo spelling "GOP on their foreheads? Any names? You've been hawking this scorecard for what seems like forever, and at the same time it sounds like you're sticking up for Al Quaida. I'm quite curious.

    • 20.4

      2/3rds of a nut:
      .
The last one was the census worker in Louisiana. And just try to convince anyone that right wing terrorists won't vote GOP every time.
      .
      Oh! Other proof:
      .
      http://www.splcenter.org
      .
Taste the waste, 2/3rds, and, btw, don't try to sell me the "fringe" argument. All one has to do is to listen to virtually any of your peers on FOX, or Rush.
      .
      Happy teabagging...

    • 20.5

Oh, as for sticking up for Al Queda:
      .
By no means. I am merely point out how hypocritical you sound when you write about terrorism and patriotism when your own peers are killing Americans on American soil.
      .
Not much of a platform to fire those assbolts from, eh, 2/3rds....

    • 20.6

And, I might add, point out that right wing zealots have killed more Americans on American soil than Al Queda!
      .
The scorecard just dramatizes things and makes virtually every claim you make a singularly sick joke...

  • 21

Like I said -53 just keep trying. But you've still got a long way to go. You remind me of that show on MTV where the kids square off and hurl yer momma jokes and whatnot at each other. Funny to a 14 yr. old but doesn't hold to much appeal to adults. Keep at it.

    • 21.1

Wow, how could I have been so wrong-53? Last I heard Al Queda had over 3 thousand on their American soil scorecard. Now who would spread such a lie about your beloved Al Queda?

    • 21.2

      2/3rds of a nut:
      .
You are really great at insulting me, of course. That's expected.
      .
But it seems to be detracting from your ability to rebut any comments I've made so far including the GOP vs Al Queda scorecard.
      .
You said that I have a bit of a fixation with it? Fair enough, but one thing you failed to mention, besides being unable to rebut my comments, is the simple fact that I have stated several times that the scorecard represents the body count of Americans on American soil this year!
      .
If you want to go back to 1995, for a body count of GOP vs Al Queda terrorism-related deaths of Americans on American soil, Al Queda leads by approximately 3500 to 240.
      .
Now, if I were you, 2/3rds, I would quit while you are way behind in this particular debate because you might be able to make a case for your peers, somehow, being less of a threat than Al Queda to America's democracy, the threat presented by right wing terrorism is NOT ZERO.
      .
      That is all...

    • 21.3

Oh, BTW, 2/3rds of a nut:
      .
By your own admission you have clearly aligned yourself with terrorists!
      .
      http://swampland.blogs.time.com/2009/11/06/lol/#comment-108380
      .
I really appreciate you handing me the ammo to point out just exactly how on - targaet I've been!
      .
      Thanks, 2/3rds...

  • 22

Facts really suck, don't they, Freetopee and 2/3rds?

  • 23

Since you liberal - progressives make up such a small part of the American public, its hard to take you very seriously. You usually have very few real facts in your comments.
You hate FOX news, Glenn Beck and the other people on FOX.
All the people I know who dislike FOX are people who don't actually watch FOX. They get their information about FOX second hand from the liberal news programs who are getting their butts kicked by FOX. These liberal news organizations purposely distort information about FOX hoping to gain some advantage. So far it hasn't worked. More people watch FOX than CNN, MSNBC, and CNBC combined.
If you actually watched FOX you would find out that their programs are based on facts where both liberal and conservative guests discuss both sides of the issues. This is something you will almost never find on any of the liberal news programs.
