As anyone smart in politics knows, there is such a thing as bad press. Just ask Mark Sanford, Mark Foley, John Ensign, David Vitter, Gary Hart, John Edwards, Ted Stevens, and Rod Blagojevich. The amount of time that Palin's name to become a punchline could be clocked on an egg timer, and the timer just clicked.

Sarah's young. She might be around for three more decades. Think about that.

It's the little lies she always tells, the twists of truth, the distortions. Four years sounds like nearly a full term; three feels incomplete. So why not just call it four?

On another note. Watch Morning Starbucks this morning and Mike Allen was on saying the offers are pouring in from the left and the right from the media. He didn't name and specific outlets or what the offers were just said they have been pouring in overnight. He seemed very happy that she was going to make a lot of money. But its hard to tell with Mike cause he is always pretty up beat anyway.

The Morning Starbucks crew though were going out their way to spin this as a postive for Sarah. We shall see. I have to believe that there are a lot of people in this country who see her as a victim and identify with her victim status. In bad economic times some people will lot for some one to blame for their bad luck and we saw some of these same people in the videos outside her rallies during the past campaign.

re: Sports metaphors. Frankly, a state's governor reminds me more of a quarterback than a point guard. Yes, s/he'll hand off, pass, or, occasionally, run the ball. But, if the QB is not there to take the snap, it's called a fumble.
