Another Victory In The War On Pirates

The credit card reform law that President Obama signed on Friday will force these guys to better disclose the fact that the "free" credit reports they offer are not actually free. For an actual free credit report, as required by federal law, go to AnnualCreditReport.com.

    Really? REALLY?!?!?
    .
Next we'll discover that "three months free" just means a reduced rate for a year's contract, and "free shipping" means they've built the shipping charges into the price.
    .
Duh – nothing's free. The actual free credit report is paid for by higher charges from the credit reporting agencies, and that charge gets passed along by their customers to … guess who? If this isn't generally understood the fault lies in the public education system.

Besides, the guy playing the hollow body Tele is…(ominous organ chord)… CANADIAN! Also.

Damnit Scherer, just looking at that video I now have that song stuck in my head. Thanks.

And remember, no one gives out a free credit score.

Not only is the lead-singing pirate Canadian, but he's a French-speaking Canadienne actor named Eric Violette.

Free credit report does not mean that you will get your credit score as well. You have to pay separate to get your credit score. The law should be changed to give consumers their credit score as well along with their credit report

It seems to me that credit scores and reports are the property of the scored individuals, not the property of Experian, et al. The reporting agencies provide a service to creditors, not individuals; as such, they shouldn't be permitted to charge a person for obtaining their own score/report at all. Why do intellectual property rights only matter when they're held by large corporations?

Why do intellectual property rights only matter when they're held by large corporations?
    .
Because the current copyright system is being gamed by the same corporations that own content, i.e. the work of political reporters.
