I think he needs the useful idiots like David Gregory and whatever hack they have at the Washington Post calling themselves a reporter this week to stop taking him seriously.
Newt is a serial adulterer who lost his last elected office in the disgrace of a financial and ethical scandal. Because of this, he will never wield any more power. He's not going to be President in 2012 unless serving your wife divorce papers while she languishes in the hospital somehow becomes the epitome of patriotism.
If people just treated him with the respect he has earned, he could be writing his Twitters to his fans at Stormfront and the rest of us would be better off.

Yes, no "confirmogasm" or "carnival[esque]" elements here.

I am a very liberal democrat but her statement sounded racist. That said everyone has some statement in their past that can be attacked. I would want to know more about her before forming a conclusion that she actually harbors racist views.

Maybe you should just read the whole damn statement then, and not the part Republicans are cherry-picking. It is pretty easy to find. I doubt you are a "very liberal democrat", because if you were, you would know that at this point in history, anytime Republicans open their mouths it is a good indication they are lying.

Joe, why do you cling to the notion that Newt is a smart guy? What in the world actually gives you that impression? What has he done to deserve that description? Its funny that pundits can point out 100 stupid things that Newt Gingrich does but invariably include the words "he's a smart guy" in each and every instance. Ever heard of that quote from Forrest Gump? Stupid is as stupid does and that means Newt's a phucking idiot.
