    I like this guy Karen, thanks for showing the video. Perhaps Obama will not want to be compared to Chavez in the future. Perhaps we will not see "Nationalization" of everything in sight continue as the Obama Administration policy. Perhaps we shall see more people at Tea Party rallies and demonstrations telling Obama that we do not want the United States of America to be Venezuela II !!!!

    Someone needs to point out that Venezuela is more popular than the Republican Party right now. So go ahead and use those images in your ads, they won't help.

    How stupid are conservative Republicans these days? The thought that America will now crumble since Obama shook the hands of another leader is really really dumb.

    "He's not concerned about reelection in 4 years, he is concerned about pushing his liberal agenda". In other words, Obama is concerned about pushing forward the things that he promised in the campaign that he would do. Yeah, a politician who actually tries to do some of the things he promised he would do. Who needs that?

    Rep King's drivel is tailor made for people like Rusty. Another clip that is worth watching is from CNBC. In this clip, Larry Kudlow says that Chavez and Obama did a kind of "Boyz in the Hood handshake."

    Looks like truth-telling is not one of the job requirements in King's district. Both car companies were perfectly free not to follow the government's recommendations (not "requirements") and to do without the federal dollars that King doesn't want them to get anyway. These were conditions for further public financing, not "nationalization" or any thing remotely resembling it.

    By 2010, certainly by 2012, it doesn't matter what the Republicans try to "use against Obama;" nobody will be left who believes anything they say anyway.

    To be fair Boyz in the Hood came out in 1991, I'm not sure how much Larry remembers from those days.

    Being from Iowa I can tell you that Steve king is a buffoon and a complete attention whore. He is much like Ann coulter other than gender and nobodys that sure of Ann anyway

    You gotta love how the GOP talks tactics while Obama is talking strategy. The more bellicose they continue to look the more the people will reject them. People are a lot more scared of losing their job, their health care and their homes right now than they are scared of a Venezuelan President who has little to no military might. But hey I say let them keep it up. Maybe after they get routed again next year the third time will be the charm to show them the error of their ways.

    "Nationalizing GM" ... does the GOP actively want two of the Big Three to go bankrupt? Given their position on unions, that's actually plausible. But if so they should say it.

    Yeah and these are the same people who all they know about Venezuela comes from those Kennedy commercials saying thanks to Citgo and the people of Venezuela for that free home heating oil they gave out to the poor.

    While voice should be given to the "loyal" opposition, it seems to me that the media have been giving short shrift to proponents of the administration's plans.

    Obama has said he doesn't support charging CIA agents and interrogators who took part in waterboarding and other harsh interrogation tactics, acting on advice from superiors that such practices were legal. But he also said that it is up to the attorney general whether to prosecute Bush administration lawyers who wrote the memos approving these tactics.

    Very simple. Obama still needs the rank and file in the CIA to support him and work with him, he wants the BushCo Lawyers to keep their yaps shut and not cross him.

    "Leaving it up to the attorney general" is the same as leaving it contingent on the target's current and future behavior.
    .
    And I think we can state with confidence that Cheney remains off the hook.

    Not a bad concept, KT, but I'm curious. We've been treated to this sort of "let's see what ridiculous crap we throw at Obama sticks" GOP insanity almost 24/7 since campaign season at least. We know that these hacks are completely irresponsible and unserious and it's getting to be nothing more than a silly, boring distraction from very important matters. That being the case, which of the above criteria do you think this particular King blather meets?

    I wouldn't dismiss it so quickly. Remember it was supposedly Eric Holder who was pushing hardest to get those OLC memos released. The DOJ is still currently reviewing the torture issue and are due to issue a report soon.

    With everything Obama does all we hear is a GOP rant against it. What the GOP seems to be missing is that by following through on what he said he would do during the campaign, Obama is only doing what the majority of American's ELECTED him to do.
