The real snark is all over on KT's feed, though.

Oh boy, now I can get my political celebrity news in tiny digestible chunks.

    Twitter THIS:

"On another matter, a financial disclosure form Daschle filed about a week ago showed that he made more than $200,000 in the past two years speaking to members of the health care industry that Obama wants him to reform.

The speaking fees were just a portion of the more than $5.2 million the former senator earned over the past two years as he advised health insurers and hospitals and worked in other industries such as energy and telecommunications, according to a financial statement filed with the Office of Government Ethics.

Among the health care interest groups paying Daschle for speeches were America's Health Insurance Plans, $40,000 for two speeches; CSL Behring, $30,000; the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy, $16,000, and the Principal Life Insurance Co., $15,000."

Of course it only tweets new threads. However, what I find curious is that there were over 200 followers by the time KT discovered it. Very few regular commenters in that original group -- unless everyone has completely changed their name. Wonder where TIME publicized this. There used to be a link on Swampland to AMC's tweets when she was following the campaign, but that's long gone.

I did prefer the original QH format of all caps because they were even easier to skip.

Karen, any truth to the rumors that Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson are on the outs?

  • 8

KT - I wasn't trying to say you don't write serious posts, or that you're wrong to write unserious posts.
    .
I'm just saying a large portion of Swampland posts are devoted to idol worship, and it goes well with Twitter's ephemeral format.

I'm not cranky. I'd like a cookie for being uncranky.

  • 12

Yeah, no cookie for Hulagate - he's always cranky. James LA too.

  • 13

Serious smearious, if you're not laughing, you're not living. Keep on, keep on truckin' KT, alright goodstuff.

KT: The high Sherriffs decided that they could either give you twitter, or paragraph breaks. One is enough by gum!

Like everywhere else, I'm jayackroyd on twitter.
    .
Ivy_B I know. pourmecoffee is schooling everybody. jayrosen_nyu is a tweetin' machine. Who else?

If that link is of the childbirth...I'm squeamish and can't handle it. Please post a link for the conception. Love is a many splendored thing.

joyomama = joyomama on Twitter. My best Twitter experience so far: following Chris Cillizza's @theHyperfix and pourmecoffee during the RNC electoins. I also follow a bunch of fellow cyberprofs and digital humanists who are microblogging classes and workshops.
    .
The Swampland Twitter stream makes the articles easier to access on my phone, when I am not at my computer.
    .
I would try some microblogging/linking to my ethical consumption blog, but then I'd probably miss the deadline for my next chapter. (End of February, baby!)

  • 22

I'm ashamed to ask this, but...what is Twitter? How do I and can I use it? How do I find pourmecoffee's entries, for example? I'm only 32, but apparently I have been hiding under a rock somewhere.

  • 24

I signed up just for pourmecoffe's tweets. I had to, since he stopped posting here so much. I follow KT as well, and jayack (you don't tweet much). I have tweeted myself exactly once and I doubt I'll do it again, but I still like my dose of coffee.

I also linked to Jay Rosen on jayack's recommendation, but I regret it. Although I have always found Rosen to be very interesting on his blog and other writings, he tweets so much, and his messages are so brief and to get any value out of it frankly, I'd be following links all day. I want to un-follow him to clear the thread, but I don't want to be rude. Is it rude to un-follow someone?
