That is like voting against Mandela, and Gandhi. Well, at least he did bring about some bipartisanship.

  • 2

His biggest problem is his name isn't Bush and he isn't a war criminal. Otherwise, he might have kept his job.

  • 3

Considering Oprah for the Senate is likely what did him in.

  • 4

    No republicans voted no?

  • 5

Okay, let's never mention this dimwitted psycho's name again, starting...now,

  • 6

Weep for poor Illinois. It has lost both extremes of the politician sanity spectrum (PSS™) within the short span of ten days.

Scherer, you should note any changes in your posts by striking through or doing so in an update. I had considered complimenting you for keeping this post to 3 words but you ruined it. Zero words is what you should be shooting for.

Okay so can we discuss something more important now -- this feels like being stuck in traffic only to find out the accident is on the other side of the street and people were just slowing down to rubber neck.

trifecta55: He also compared himself to Jimmy Stewart in "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington". Now, can we kindly move on?

The Borgen Project has some good info on the cost of addressing global poverty.

$30 billion: Annual shortfall to end world hunger.
    $550 billion: U.S. Defense budget

He's instantly forgotten by most of us. Please, do us all a favor & follow that "lead." Blago's corruption was, admittedly, newsworthy, but of course we find it a little arresting, the imbalance between coverage of his case vs. say lying to the nation about WMD or Halliburton or violation/rape of the constitution over the course of 2 Bush terms. Compared to that record, Blago is Larry Craig (or Sam Adams).

Forgive me for the totally off-topic post, but I'm testing my theory that my posts are only forbidden in certain threads. This was attempted in KT's last post:

"but the solution to stoopid cable is very simple: change the channel. if people weren't watching teh stoopid, they would quit putting it on the air"
    ~
Whoa boy! So, blame the audience? Like blaming citizenry for their hacktacular gov't (which I've been guilty of, I admit), or Gazans for their children being bombed. Seems a most convenient stance to take when one is part of, ummmm, the selfsame friggin media. I love the imaginary distinction between cable and the more pedigreed NY Times, WaPo, or Time, as if all checks weren't signed by the corpo-borg? As if Tweety and Stepho the Greek are so many degrees separated from Fried-man or Broder or Joe K. As if you weren't all on board the good ship bomb Iraq lolly pop. It's all stoopid.
    ~
Americans who are lucky enough to go to college, or are sufficiently auto-didactic to locate discourse untainted by corp interests--in other words, we few, we happy few. Sadly the vast majority can't see in the middle of the sh1testorm that is our modern media, principally defined by its propaganda and piffle. Amy Sullivan and her god, Joe Klein, the man for all seasons, he whose righteousness is legendary (when personally assaulted or his wet pinky in the air senses a paradigm shift in the electorate's pulse), MS and his man-Mac crush, AMC and her OUAT Paris Hiltonesque prose, and KT, the soccer mom that's genuinely too darned nice to denounce! God, HH, where did you go!? We need you!

So, since it appears as if it did post here, I'm curious if you Swamp-bloggers have your own personal blacklist? WTF

  • 14

Here's a bold prediction. Blago will not get indicted.

  • 15

jc-maybe your post tripped KT's sanctimoniometer?

  • 16

I can't wait for Mark Halperin to tell us how his impeachment and removal from office is great news for Blagojevich.

  • 17

Blog & Sarah Palin are much alike~~stream-of-conscious blather!

  • 18

Do you think we could get a helicopter to take him out of Chicago with a crowd of people below singing "Na-na-na-na, Hey, hey, hey, good-bye!"

  • 19

Oops. Springfield, not Chicago. You get my point.

Blago has been convicted of no crimes ( yet ) and was only allowed to speak ( plead ) with his state's legislature to not impeach him based on edited tapes and hear-say evidence. He may well be a crook, or a kook, but that hardly sounds like a just process. The impeachment of Blago only furthers the appearance of an unruly, irresponsible and corrupt state.
