George W. Bush Has Left The Building
Let Unconquerable Gladness Dwell.
-
1
He followed his Golden Rule "Leave them wanting less"
.
No last minute pardons though. I'm surprised. -
2
.
Wonder if Bush was paying attention to this:"On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics."
or this:
"They saw America as bigger than the sum of our individual ambitions; greater than all the differences of birth or wealth or faction."
I'm thinking that it was this one that might have stung a bit:
"...we are ready to lead once more."

Klein almost as much of a cold scold as the new & improvised Carter?
What a shocker.

Say AMEN!
.
BTW: Anyone catch Dana Perino's cameo at the close of the Daily Show last night? Priceless! -

"On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics."
Yes, puting both Rahm and Billiary on notice IS a good idea.
Otherwise a mediocre speech to a mob of lemmings that haven't lifted anything heavier than their last dead tree issue of Time doing Mother Jones.
Some change, that one.
Move On indeed.
-
6
He left the country a smoking pile of rubble at his feet.
F**k that motherf**ker.
-
7
I may some day grow weary of wingnut whine, but not any day soon.
-
8
HOORAY! FREE (of the most criminal administration in history) AT LAST!
hulagate: (pointing and laughing) HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR, matey!
-
9
It was a dumbfoundingly sour and scolding speech, by a leader that hasn't led anything other than foreign deposits to his PayPal account.
Not that Wall Street cares.
On the plus side, it was damn cold outside!

"I pledge to protect and defend the Constitution". When Obama said it, I actually felt like he understood what that meant. The Constution comes first. You don't wad it up and toss it in the trash can at the first excuse, unlike some other past Presidents we could all name.
-
11
When do the libs stop blaming Bush, and start to address the total leadership void that has been the Pelosi-Reid-Murtha entitlement program?
When Fannie and Freddie pay off Boob Rubin, maybe?

I think this proves they fear the Hague. And it may be true that Bush and the complicit democratic leadership have an understanding with Obama. -

"The Constitution comes first. You don't wad it up and toss it in the trash can at the first excuse, unlike some other past Presidents we could all name."
Ahem.
LINCOLN and FDR ring any bells, Gloria?
Another distinguished Pell Grantee fall down go boom.
-
14
And it may be true that Bush and the complicit democratic leadership have an understanding with Obama.
.
Perhaps. Time will tell. All it will take is one thread pulled by one Congressional investigation and the sweater becomes undone. -
15
Most expensive inaugural in history.
Dullest speech since Carter.
Best weather since NOLA.
-
16
And, yet, Obama's your president too, Hula.
-
17
Speech summary:
"We're in a MALAISE, and I just hope my limp legacy goes better than my oral oath of orifice."
- Jiminy Crater The Second
-
18
He skipped over Lincoln and FDR because -- TAH DUH -- they too both spiked the trial law during war, Time.
Silly libniks.
Trix IS for Clixons.
-
19
Ahem, my name isn't Gloria hulagate.
It is true that Lincoln did suspend the writ of habeas corpus, imprisoning citizens without benefit of trial. You assume wrongly I was referring only to the last administration with my comment. My point was that I hope that Obama will be a different leader from some of our past ones. Someone who will put concern for the rule of law before what is politically expedient at the time.
I don't subscribe to the notion that one party is good and the other bad. That only this one or that one is fit to control government. But if that is your world view, then so be it. I hope you are proved wrong. -
20
Can't miss the irony and symbolism of Obama waving off Bush and the final flyover of the former domain of the regime. A clear image that change - for better or worse - has come...
-
21
Arrgh, me hearties,
.
Let's not be payin' naught o' our happy attention t' th' algae-encrusted, plankton-brained hula an' hula's sorry ilk. No one gives a fair flyin' f**k what those bilge-suckin' slime say no more - a new day has dawned an' they be crawlin' back b'neath their sorry scummy rocks soon enough.Cheers t' our new President!
an' wvng wherever ye may be - I sipped a toast t' ye durin' th' happy proceedin's

pirate wench: Avast!

24
"...I hope that Obama will be a different leader..."
Yes, his cabinet picks are a breathe of fresh graft, er, air.
-
25
.
Heh. If hulageld spent half as much time canvassing for her candidate as she does rambling insanely on a blog comment section, we'd have just seen a different person sworn in as President.
.
Then again, some overzealous NRA member would probably have mistaken her for an escaped mental patient and shot hulagirl on their front doorstep...
