Sliming Nancy Pelosi
Factcheck.org examines and debunks the false internet rumors that are circulating about the Speaker. Maybe she and Barack Obama and Sarah Palin should start a support group together.

I think most of the internet "rumors" about Palin are based on real, true things (pastor witch doctor, lying liar, etc), while the rumors about Obama and Pelosi are the baseless products of fevered wingnut brains (cue texte). Not the same thing, so perhaps not fair to put them in the same group?

Did you get "rick rolled" by pelosi's new youtube site? -

KT -- Thanks for posting the debunking of these so-called urband legends about Ms. Pelosi. You can answer one question for me, does she still feel the hot breath of Steny Hoyer on her neck?
.
Has she soldified her power base as Speaker? How does this compare with Tip O'Neill or Jim Wright? -
4
Nancy Pelosi will go down in history as a feckless, impotent Speaker who refused to exercise her Constitutional duty to provide oversight over the Executive Branch and refused to investigate extra-Constitutional, including criminal, behavior by the Bush administration. And she did it, by her own admission, because she thought it would hurt her party at the polls.
.
What's that? "False internet rumors" are circulating about her? She can actually figure out on which voyage Captain Cook died? I am taking my sympathy for her "off the table." -

What sqr1 says.

KT, OT, but taking the opportunity. While I am a strong supporter of Obama, I agree with others who suggest that the new masthead sends the wrong message - unless Swampland's primary focus is to be Obama and his executive branch. During the campaign, you had a nice mix of candidates that framed the main discussion points of the day - which was the campaign. Perhaps a new masthead with the key gov't players now that the core issues will be governance would be appropriate?
.
I would not object to seeing Boehner and McConnel sinking into a swamp, and tears streaming down Boener's face would be a nice and appropriate touch. -
7
You don't need to start nasty internet rumors about Nancy that's a complete waste of energy. The truth is bad enough.

Michele Bachmann said she probably won't kiss Obama. Oh well.

If I had to see Boner's ugly mug on the banner everyday I might be tempted to poke my eyes out with a sharp stick. DOAN WANT.
.
as for Ms. Pelosi, she's not my favorite pol, but I think she's tough enough to not worry too much about wingnut nattering in chain emails. I also give her credit for coming to NetRoots this past summer and facing a pretty hostile room. -
10
Well it mentions nothing of the FACT that she gives out home baked cookies in her office. Please proceed in an orderly manner for your cookie.

gunny, that would be like a kiss from the church lady.

Michele Bachmann - Charges: Exemplifies the simmering, all-American fascism lurking behind the forced smiles of uptight church ladies throughout “real America.” -

I don't know if I posted this here the other day or not and I am not excusing Pelosi for her behavior the last two years especially taking Impeachment off the table. But it seems a new day may be dawning.

.More broadly, she said that she told the Democratic caucus this morning that they need to rethink the way they approach legislation now that they are no longer in the minority or facing a Republican president. "We're thinking a political way about this," she said. "We have to think differently about this...We've been so used to an uphill fight but now we have arrived."
.
Claiming that polls show some 79 percent of the American people are behind Obama's stimulus plan, the Congress should "move quickly -- not hastily, but quickly," she said. -

That's encouraging.

Cookies from crazy Michelle Bachman? DOAN WANT!! -

sgw, and it is also useful to note that Pelosi passed the 100 days agenda of the last congress, and Reid was unable to force it through the Senate - wouldn't have been collegial. There are plenty of things about Pelosi to be frustrated with, but I don't see her nearly as negatively as gunny & sqrl do.

Meanwhile, back at Tax Dodgers HQ...
Geithner, Holder, Richardson, Burris, Blago, Hillary.
Some change, that one.
Move On indeed.

As for home made cookies, my teacher wife used to make cookies to hand out to students at the end of every semester, but the school system passed a rule about "no homemade food" in the school. Maybe Nancy could pass a law allowing cookies?

Protocol question. Is "pointing and laughing ha ha ha ha" allowed for hula, or only textee?
-

.
hula has split personalities so pointing and laughing is much less effective. Better to just talk about it without engaging directly or totally ignoring in my dime store psychological opinion. -

Fancy Leftosi needs no introduction to largess.
She's the emancipated core of the Do As I Say dem party hippiecrap personality cult, hell bent on appeasement as Job 1.
Congrats to anyone that doesn't succumb to this pre-impeachable Gaza funded BS, at any juncture, including Senate confirmation hearings.
-
20
sgw, perhaps It Rubs The Lotion On It's Skin would be a better approach for hula?
-

pourme was right about hula and the Kerouac stylistic influence, and as Capote said, "That's not writing – it's typing!"
-

Thanks for rushing to her defense!
.
Unfortunately, FactCheck has zero credibility due to the fact that FactCheck is lying about this issue. -

Timmy Geithner only paid his back taxes when caught?
Where IS we heard THAT before.
Oh well.
HILLARY HAPPENS.

hulagate's new definition of "caught:" the Obama vetting team finds an error the IRS did not.
Good to know.

Proposed: New noun for the changing of the subject at the height of a legit controversy would be a... TUMULTY.
"Under the light of the law, Novettnuh Geithner and the Clixon Graft Fund each whipped out their respective piles of tumulty, in response to Katie Couric's lack of bitter Black Crock questioning..."
Honest to Allah, how many Times have we seen this before, when either Tumultuous or Jihad Joe Klein come to the news trash bin rescue of lefty dregs flailing in the weather vane for some way out of their own Fannie or Freddie or Barney Frankly male maid messes?
"You bring the carpet bombing of Kosovo obfuscation, Joe, and I'll bring the feel good story about Leftosi's taxpayer-paid private jet treks cross country with fam in tow, never mind the likely analogies in lesser minds to the Palin invoices for transporting their retarded infant."
Yup, good to be back, America.
Way better here than in say Saint Paul counting chads.
