About the banner: OK, but I really would have preferred restoration of Preview if it had to be one or the other. Or carriage returns. Or the old typeface. Or comments without page breaks.

About the resurrection of Hallucigate: I'm guessing the money for playing the clown in the background of that E-Trade commercial finally ran out. The baby was right, though, about underestimating the creepiness.

I think we should keep hulagate around.
.
He should stand as a stark reminder of just how big a hole this country is busy climbing out of, and might possibly be an inspiration to keep a united front.
.
Like I said, he's a voice crying in the wilderness, just more insane, is all...

Is this a cult of Obama? He hasn't had a chance to deliver quite yet.
_
in general, the objects of cult worship never do deliver on their promises. Of course, the cultists never realize that, and 'interpret' everything in a way that affirms their beliefs -- that's why their called 'cultists'
_
And there is clearly a 'cult of Obama'--he's a marketing phenomenon, to the point where Pepsi-Cola appears to be deliberately echoing his logo in their new logo (http://www.slate.com/id/2198198/)

let me add my voice to elvis and that "other" Paul, and say that the banner should not be about Obama -- and it certainly shouldn't send the (barely) subliminal message that this one intends. Its graphic "editorializing" in a way that a (theoretically) unbiased publication should not be associated with.

(Is this all Obamamania, ie about "selling" the blog by exploiting Obama's popularity by presenting him with a decidedly positive image -- kinda like the notorious MS magazine cover?

There ya go, textee, hulagate shows you how to do it. Mix up the verbal tics and logorhea with lame attempts at humor, spiced up by obscure references nobody can understand. That's how you annoy people - your stuff is pathetic.
.
And hulagate - please, go back to QH or obamish, hulagate sounds like a cat throwing up. Not pleasant.

"textee: You forgot to explain why global warming is a hoax."

I also forgot to mention that Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, Bushitler, Paul Wolfowitz, Fox News, SUVs, Exxon Mobil, Scooter Libby, Halliburton, Diebold and Blackwater caused the end of the last Ice Age; and the one before that; and the one before that; and .... Right? See: the Sun. It's that big, bright thing in the sky that you see during daylight hours. It causes the earth to be real hottie, especially during summer months .... A couple of days ago, I read that someone was claiming that Google is also responsible for "global warming", although I don't remember if they claimed that the Sun or Google was more responsible for the earth's temperature.

formerlyjames
.
Not Joe Scarborough nor Mike Smerconish. Both of them have basically said the country SHOULD torture if it means saving lives. They aren't even trying to make a distinction anymore. They are using the "24" defense and telling anyone that disagrees to suck it. Mind you I have been a huge fan of 24 since it first started coming on but after watching the new episodes its evident that they are trying to make a political statement this year instead of trying to tell a story. Last season sucked bad enough, I think I am done with it all together now.
