Your Holiday Mammogram Reminder
A statement from Mitt Romney's wife, Ann, via Ambinder.
Last week, following my annual mammogram at Brigham and Women's Hospital, I was diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma In Sutu (DCIS). While this is commonly referred to as early stage breast cancer, it is technically not cancer but rather pre-cancer, as it has not become invasive.
The Department of Health and Human Services recommends that women over 40 get mammograms "every 1 to 2 years." Those under 40 should also get regular screenings if there is a family history of breast cancer.

Great advice.
IF you have health insurance and IF your insurance covers it or IF you can afford to pay for it out of pocket.

Mammograms are available to women whether or not they have insurance or can afford to pay for it out of pocket. There are women's clinics all over this country that offer free mammograms. Just google "where to get a free mammogram in ...." for a program. -
