A blog about politics.

So Long, Farewell, However You Spell Auf Wiedersehn

You may have noticed I haven't been around much lately. I'm popping my head in to let you know that will continue to be the case: Swampland is a mature news blog now and quite clearly doesn't need the care and feeding of a designated proprietor.

I've enjoyed working with all of my fellow bloggers, and learned a lot from them. I specifically appreciate Karen's ability to combine level-headedness and a sense of perspective with her genuine enthusiasm, Jay's wry management style, Michael and Jay N-S's hard work and scoopiness and Joe's fearlessness. And, of course, the commenters. Without you, we are nothing.

The time I've taken off from blogging full time has agreed with me (something about having time to hear yourself think) and I expect I'll return to it eventually but not especially soon. There appear to be plenty of people willing to take up the slack.

Thanks again to you, dear readers, and to my colleagues, both bloggers and managers (that's you, Josh). We will always have Swampland.
