So Long, Farewell, However You Spell Auf Wiedersehn
You may have noticed I haven't been around much lately. I'm popping my head in to let you know that will continue to be the case: Swampland is a mature news blog now and quite clearly doesn't need the care and feeding of a designated proprietor.
I've enjoyed working with all of my fellow bloggers, and learned a lot from them. I specifically appreciate Karen's ability to combine level-headedness and a sense of perspective with her genuine enthusiasm, Jay's wry management style, Michael and Jay N-S's hard work and scoopiness and Joe's fearlessness. And, of course, the commenters. Without you, we are nothing.
The time I've taken off from blogging full time has agreed with me (something about having time to hear yourself think) and I expect I'll return to it eventually but not especially soon. There appear to be plenty of people willing to take up the slack.
Thanks again to you, dear readers, and to my colleagues, both bloggers and managers (that's you, Josh). We will always have Swampland.

boo. seriously, boo. What's Swampland without a little snark named Ana Marie Cox?
-
2
Notice? Not really. Follow the money AMC.
-
3
Good luck, AMC. I'll be reading your tweets, sometimes with a little frisson ("Did she just SAY that?") that I attribute to my New England upbringing.
-
4
Bomb China now.

5
Auf Wiedersehen!
Don't be a stranger.
If nothing else I'll be checking that Flickr page from time to time! -
6
Bye AMC! We'll miss you and your Flckr's about breakfast options on the Romney trail!
-
7
Go TV, where the money is and abandon the slobs out in blogland. Can't make any real money just blogging. Hey! Isn't the time away mind clearing?
-
8
AMC, good luck. And I hope your pets/beloved four-legged family members are doing well.
-
9
Goodluck. Now go make a pile of cash on tv.
-
10
Have fun, Ana! Thanks for your work in getting this blog off the ground.

You've helped do good here at time.com's Swampland. The posts (mostly) and comments keep us coming back, despite the high sheriffs' lame attempts at Webmastering. Your snark will be missed here. Keep us posted on the next book / blog / writing / TV gig.

12
Good luck, AMC.

13
Good luck, AMC! You definitely helped get things off the ground here. I look forward to reading you in other venues.

Take Scherer with you when you leave.

This news has ruined my Friday! I will miss you terribly AMC.
Marry me?

The Swamp is Alive with the Sound of Ana -- no longer?
Good luck, thanks for your many contributions. -
17
I should add that I can't believe your dumping us for...Tucker Carlson?
-
18
I know I've been a dick about your posts here, but in all seriousness, good luck in the post-blogging world.
-
19
Good luck, though with your talents, who needs it. But is Tucker Carlson worth it?

When you drop off your key, check the table. I made you a mixtape and a collage of our trip to Coney Island. Be strong, schmoopy. TEotH

You now have time to write a book or run for the Senate... maybe both. It never goes out of style.
If you become rich, however, I don't know if that qualifies you as a right-wing top-down demagogue hypocrite or a left-wing elitist crocodile-tear poser.
Second thought, don't become rich, but by all means be happy.

22
Kick Carney straight in the 'nads and put a couple drops of Visine in Scherer's coffee before you go please. Good luck.
-
23
I wish you all the best, Ana, and look forward to seeing you someplace else in the future.

AMC, I was introduced to this blog and became hooked by your engaging, fresh and and enthused approach with quirky video reports, flickr twitter and fun viewpoint. I have stayed and become a daily reader of it thanks to the depth and breadth of the reporting here. As a longtime reader of deadtree Time, it was clear immediately that you stood out, which I for one heartily applaud, and I'm sure that was not always easy in a more traditional setting. I hope you colleagues and Time understand what you have brought to them. You are a part of the "new wave" of fun political reporting. I love both styles and will follow this blog, dead tree time and everything you do from here. ONWARD! You and Rachel Maddow will rule this planet soon!
