Voter Turn Out is Bad Business
Even if it's good civics. Record voter turn out is going to eat a hole in the bottom lines of these businesses, who have offered various inducements to those who can show they exercised their franchise. As it were. If anyone knows of any other similar program, please let me know. America was founded on the idea of getting cool stuff in return for as little effort as possible. And then it was screwed up a little by making voting really difficult for some. We're getting back to some kind of equilibrium, and I am certain that donuts help.
Plumbing the Homer vote: Krispy Kreme
Too bad they called Vermont already, or maybe that's the point: Ben and Jerry's
Rock the Vote will just take your word for it. On the other hand, you might have to listen to Maroon 5. Surely, John McCain will want to re-think his stance on torture over this.
And I thought both sides wanted to put an end to "self-dealing."

Though much attention has been paid and condolences sent to Barack Obama for the sad passing of his grandmother Toot, I just read about the eldest daughter of Dick Durbin, the senior senator of IL. She passed on Saturday, at the brutally young age of 40, after a long struggle with congenital heart disease. So very sad.
Senator Durbin too should be celebrating Obama's victory tonight, considering his prominent role. Sad condolences for his tragic loss.

Ana,
Are you drunk? That first paragraph made no sense to me. I'm not the smartest guy I ever met, but neither am I the dumbest, either. Please invest in more proper nouns.

Disclosure: I *am* drunk.

You get paid to vote?
Coffee, doughnuts and ice-cream?
Where do I sign up? -

its over:
MSNBC calls Ohio for Obama - McCain can pick up the western 3 of nev. colorado and new meixco and still lose.

I dunno, Ana. $8M for a 30-second Super Bowl spot equals 4 million Ventes, 10 million glazed or 3 million pint-sized customer incentives. There are worse ways to spend ad money. Mmmmm...voters!

On a horse-race note: has anyone gotten the über-cool TPM interactive election map to work since this afternoon? I'm. Still. Loading. (Ana: call Hodgeman and have him kick the a$$es of his PC overlords. Oh, wait, he's really a Mac...)

.
His final prediction was for Barack to get 349 electoral votes, and that's where it stands this morning (with two states yet to be determined). His final projected vote percent was Obama 52, McCain 46, which is where it stands. Maps of projected and actual look the same. Really remarkable job.
