The Not-Romney

My go-to laugh line this week was, "If McCain chooses Romney, I don't know what I'm going to do with this last little shred of respect I have for him."

As he's announced Palin, I'm looking very closely at this tattered scrap of cloth, which looks awesome with Sarah Palin's cute school-teacher mien but also has some traces of red-faced pro-life crimson. It's a little thrilling to have another serious female candidate in the race, it's a little weird that she's the governor of Alaska.

I think this is a marginally good sign for those who worried that Karl Rove is actually running the campaign... and a bad sign for those wish he were.
