The Batman

Perhaps you've heard about cable asshat Glenn Beck's assertion that "The Dark Knight" is a conservative parable endorsing torture and warrantless wiretapping, among other things. The good people of Think Progress took it upon themselves to call Sen. Pat Leahy's office for a comment, as the liberal senator is apparently a bit of Batman fanboy (so much so that he snagged a cameo -- with lines! -- in the movie). Leahy's spokesman's response: "Sorry Glenn but that's not just a stretch, it's a hoot. But I do grant the parallels between Superman's nemesis Lex Luthor and the Vice President."

And remember, between Leahy and Cheney, it's personal.
