Chet Who?
I didn't even know there was a "Chet Edwards boomlet" until Ezra explained it. His reasoning on why this guy you've never heard of (as opposed to some other guy you've never heard of) might be Obama's VP pick:
1) Rep. Artur Davis [has said] ...Edwards was the best southern politician in the country.

2) Edwards serves a more Republican district than any other Democratic congressman in the country.
[snip]
3) Members of Congress love Edwards.
[snip]
4) Edwards is extremely well-networked with the liberal intellectual class in DC.
[snip]
All of which reminds me that today's Politico Playbook headline, to my groggy eyes, read "Random Wisdom on Veeps," and it made perfect sense.
