The Wrecking Crew Comes to You

Friend of Swampland, or at least friend of Swampland commenters and my husband, Tom Frank will be reading from his brand-new book, The Wrecking Crew: How Conservatives Rule, tonight at Politics and Prose, here in Washington. I can promise from previous experience that he is an extremely entertaining performer, a kind of natural-born monologist and provocateur. Back at U of C, he frequently wore a pope's miter to parties. And knickers and a straw boater pretty much all summer. He's given up costumes but hasn't lost his flareflair [ugh. sorry.].

In case you need proof, or can't make it tonight, there's an excerpt from the audiobook on his website (that sentence will be added to the list of Things My Younger Self Would Have Laughed at Thought of). He also talked to Terry Gross a substitute host on "Fresh Air" yesterday. I haven't listened to it myself yet, but I feel no hesitation in recommending it highly.
