Iran's Foreign Policy

This, by David Ignatius, is very smart. It demonstrates how foolishly simplistic the Bush Administration's policy and rhetoric, and the campaign utterances of John McCain, have been. One quibble: Ignatius makes it sound as if the Qods force controls Mahdi Army strategy. Not true. In fact, now that it is clear to the Sadr circle--a traditionally anti-Persian group--that they've been played by Iran, it will be interesting to see just which way the Sadrist movement strategizes the next five months, leading up to Iraq's regional elections.
