A Nice Note to End the Week On

They say if you want a friend in Washington, get a dog. We're especially needy in that department so we have one and a half: In addition to the wholly-owned Cox-Lehmann subsidiary known as Hank, we long-term dog-sit Wheatley, the enormous Golden Retriever with a heart big enough for two families, while his mom works out a commuting solution to her new job overseas. I mentioned in the comments thread yesterday that Wheatley was undergoing surgery to remove malignant tumors that night, and the outlook was grim. Great news: The operation was a success, his vet feels like he has a great chance at recovery, and that the tumors were not nearly as advanced as they had thought. We're all very, very happy to have the Wheats around for awhile longer.

As his mom puts it, "He's looking forward to the Inaugural BALL -- emphasis on ball."

wheatly noble
