Hillary Clinton in the Stretch
Here's a piece I did for TIME.com on the Clinton campaign in the final days going into Ohio and Texas.
The intensity and energy with which Hillary Clinton has campaigned in these last few days has been remarkable. On the flight into Houston last night, after I filed this, the campaign staff had a picture session with the candidate in the front of the plane. Of course, it was hard not to wonder whether these photos would turn out to be a final souvenir for everyone. But I did get the sense that everyone around Clinton believed she has done as much as she could to turn the momentum--and certainly the last rounds of polling have suggested she is making some headway.
The election-day schedule is always telling of a campaign's expectations. Clinton plans a victory party in Ohio that is likely to be over with by the time the results are announced in Texas.
