That You Tube Debate? Notsomuch.

This is the second notice I've received from CNN reminding/urging me to apply for credentials for the VERY IMPORTANT ULTRA COOL YOUTUBE DEBATE! It'll be all internetty!

For Re-Release: July 16, 2007

Press Credential Deadline for South Carolina Debate is THIS WEDNESDAY, July 18 Media Logistics Call to be held July 19

CNN is currently accepting requests for press credentials for the first of two unprecedented presidential debates co-sponsored by YouTube. The Democratic debate will be held at The Citadel in Charleston, S.C., on Monday, July 23, from 7 to 9 p.m. (ET) and will air live on CNN. It will be the first Democratic National Committee-sanctioned presidential forum of the 2008 election cycle.

For the first time in presidential debate history, the live forum will feature video questions submitted to YouTube which will be broadcast and answered by the candidates on CNN. CNN's Anderson Cooper will moderate the two-hour debates and pose follow-up questions.

Attentive readers will recall that excitement among the internetters is about as heated as it appears to be among journalists. Their best hope, I think, is if they get "Obama Girl" to moderate.
