Scandal Junkies Take Note
The Scooter Libby sentencing hearing takes place on Tuesday at 9:30am. It sounds like a SRO event:
Members of the media should be aware that the courtroom passes from the trial will apply to the sentencing. Please discuss the seating with your organization and decide on a representative - seating is expected to be quite limited! (Courtroom 17 will provide overflow seating - and this seating is open to everyone on a first-come, first served basis.)
In other Libby news, the judge in the case has agreed to release the over 150 letters he's received expressing an opinion on the case: both those pleading for leniency and statements of "opprobrium." So. Best. Libby's lawyer's opposed the action, because, according the AP, "the writers never expected their words to be made public." Some names of those who never expected their words to be made public: Bush, Cheney, and a newbie presidential candidate whose name rhymes with Dred Rompson.
