Today on the Trail: Republicans start filtering into Cali

TotT is a daily rundown of campaign events, compiled by Katie Rooney.

While all of the Republican presidential candidates are getting ready for their turn at the podium at tomorrow's debate, at least three of them are arriving in California a little early to do some pre-debate campaigning. Today Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) holds another expensive ($4,600 a person) fundraiser, this time in Beverly Hills at the home of Jerry Perenchio, owner of the Spanish-speaking TV network Univision and one of Forbes' richest men in the world. Meanwhile, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) hosts a fundraiser of his own at Hunan Restaurant in San Francisco at 5 p.m. Later former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney makes an appearance on Jay Leno's "The Tonight Show."

Not too many of the other candidates are out. Here's where you'll find those who are:

*Former Sen. John Edwards (D-NC) holds a town hall meeting with a local union at noon in Portland, Oregon.

*Rep. Dennis Kucinich's (D-OH) wife Elizabeth hosts "An Evening with Elizabeth" starting with another vegan potluck dinner in Phoenix, Arizona at 6 p.m.
