Pre-emptive Update: Before the commentariat weighs in with 'Hey, didn't you defend Broder last week?' and 'Aren't you being inconsistent?' Let me just say that just because I respect and admire David, it doesn't mean I always agree with him...In fact, I'd be hard-pressed to name anyone I always agree with.
My favorite line about that comes from Ed Koch, the former mayor of New York: "If you agree with me on nine out of 12 issues, vote for me. If you agree with me on 12 out of 12 issues, see a psychiatrist."
